Carmen Cabrera- Biography
Carmen Cantu was born in Elgin, IL but grew up in Rockford IL.
Early in the 90's she decided she was destined to move out of the Midwest. She decided to visit her sister In Miami for a short time. It turned into a staycation.
She ended up like many other young dreamers living the South Beach Dream of the glamorous life making ends meet by bar tending. But it was her freelancing as a Hair and Make artist that set the tone for a career.
One her very good friend's visiting from Canada "Danny Morrow" was working on many sets from 90' to early 2000. He had an A- list of clientele for Hair & Make up.
In early 2002 Danny had a hair & make up assistant cancel last minute and 4am he woke Carmen that morning. She had no idea , but this day would change her life. She worked on set with him as Make up & Hair Assistant a few times but ended up getting another job as lead MUA & Hair for a commercial for Mitsubishi which her first job went on a billboard international..
The entire experience encouraged this naturally gifted young lady to sign up to Cosmetology school where she excelled in her class thus obtaining her license.
She has worked in the Beauty industry for over 10 years. She experience with Media to Bridal and as a guest speaker. She has worked as a beauty adviser for Sephora and Boots cosmetics. She has excellent knowledge of products and applications of make up and hair.
She has taught as a make up instructor Make up Store Miami . She has enjoyed teaching as a Cosmetology Instructor and worked for local Beauty academy's (Hollywood Beauty Careers Institute and Kaizen Beauty Academy, Florida Career College). Teaching is a true passion for Carmen. She often does workshops and seminars at local salons and studios.
Carmen is a true renaissance woman who also enjoys writing heartfelt poems and has amassed quite a remarkable collection. She is also fond of drawing and painting which she loves to do with her step son and amazing daughter Venissa.
She also dabbles in the music industry working as a promoter and booking agent thus how she met her husband Breezy Cabrera... She has written co produced many songs with her husband.. Check out The music project by the name of "Elevated Solz"
